Tutorial: Soft Rose

I don't care about what people say but if it's possible I will want to sleep as much as I can before heading to work so to ask me to wake up 15 minutes earlier (or more) just to do my makeup, no thank you and please don't attempt to. I am the kind who will not mind going out of the house looking like a wreck because I'm comfortable 'naked' (or not) and I can.

So on days when I know I'll be heading somewhere fancy in the evening after work, or when I feel like putting on makeup, I'll bring what I need and get my makeup done in my work place.

For this tutorial, it isn't so much about what colours to use but more towards how to make good use of your makeup products, and how you don't need full size (or expensive) brushes to do your makeup. Somehow it turned out soft so I find it work appropriate too, if you skip that pop of blue on the lower lashline.

Here're the main products used for this look:

Eyes: MAC Mystic Cool Eyes Palette from Holiday 2009: Magic, Mirth & Mischief
Cheeks: MAC Her Blooming Cheeks (that hot pink blusher!) from Holiday 2010: A Tartan Tale
Lips: YSL Rough Volupte in No. 8 Fetish Pink

My, my... what big cheeks I have.

- Bring a palette with a good variety of eyeshadows - highlight, lid, crease. If it has an additional colour for liner or a 'pop' of colour, it'd be great too. I personally adore MAC's holiday collection palettes, not everything's great but there are some pretty good ones out there.

- Use a gel liner (please, not one that's all hardened and dried up) BOTH as your eyeshadow base and eyeliner, making sure the lid colour is suitable to be used together with it. A chocolate brown would be most versatile as it's not as harsh and intense as black.

- I like to bring travel size brushes because they fit into my pouch perfectly and they're of course, cheaper so I don't have to worry about ruining my full size brushes when I 'force' them into my pouch. No matter how poor the quality of a brush is, in the end it still boils down to how you use them. Be patient, slowly build the intensity.

Look how 'attractive' I was before lol It's actually a snapshot from the video cos I forgot to take a 'before' picture.

Baaaad angle. I look crossed-eye phfft.
