I've heard a lot about the Revlon Super Lustrous lipsticks ever since I started checking out this whole beauty community thing. Unfortunately in Malaysia, the local healthcare stores do not bring in many interesting colours. At least, the colours weren't interesting enough for me to be willing to spend RM 30.00 on one tube of lipstick. Honestly, RM 30.00 is slightly more than what I am willing to pay for a drugstore lipstick too. I know I spend a whole lot more on MAC and YSL and whatnot but at the end of the day, only the buyer will be able to know how much difference it'll make with that extra money.
Today, I was out in Watson's hoping to see the new Revlon Photoready Foundation which I was told has already reached Malaysia! Sadly, it's STILL only available at Guardian. But something else caught my attention! A little notice saying...
Revlon Super Lustrous Lipsticks are BUY 1 GET 1 FREE!
If I was waiting for the perfect time to get those lipsticks I have been curious about, TODAY was it. So after looking around for a while, it didn't take me long to decide because really, most of the colours available are really deep and dark ones. These were the 2 possibly lightest shades.
Both lipsticks are labled as "Creme" which I believe is a type of finish. This finish doesn't contain any sparkles, shimmers, frost or pearl. It's a pretty self explanatory - cream. Also, they do feel very creamy and glide on very smoothly on the lips, leaving a pretty sheen behind. Comparable to MAC's Cremesheen lipsticks.
And lipswatches, as always.
Natural lip colour with lipbalm.
Ok total fail -_- I wanted to try to do that "lipstick touching the lips" type of swatch picture but the focus went off. It's really hard to take a picture with one hand while holding the lipstick with the other! I was trying REALLY hard not to shake my camera. Guess it's time for a tripod? Anyway, Pink in the Afternoon is a slightly warm, creamy pink with a hint of coral. If you compare it to my natural lip colour, this looks almost like a MLBB colour!
Kiss Me Coral is a bright reddish coral. I've never owned a bright red lipstick so I thought a reddish coral would be a good shade to try. It is indeed very red, much more than coral on my skintone! I'm not too sure if I actually like it though...
If you're interested in the Revlon Super Lustrous lipsticks, do remember to check your local Watsons and see if they still have the BOGOF promotion.
Ok that's all! Thanks for reading! :)

Hi Ee Von. I haven't seen this BOGOF in Watson's yet but the Super Lustrous line was selling for rm10 each at Revlon's warehouse sale yesterday.
I grabbed the last 3 shades left - not sure what their names are. At that price, I can make it work for me! :-)
milktea: omg where was the warehouse sale?!!
Hey Ee Von :-) You didn't read about it?? It was at the Alliance Cosmetics HQ in Temasya Industrial Park, Shah Alam (near Hicom-Glenmarie)
From Fri~Sun (July 30~Aug 1). I got me a HAUL since they always discount further on the last day!
Revlon Super Lustrous & Renewist lippies @rm10 (formerly rm15).
Eyeshadow: Colorstay Mineral trios & Matte monos @ *jaw drop* rm5!! (formerly rm10). These are still on the shelves at Watsons.
(Colorstay Mineral blushers all sold out!)
Manufacturing dates range from Apr-09 to Mar-10 (for Super Lustrous!).
The advert for the warehouse sale ran in Star Metro a few days before the sale.
Bit of a long post *phew* but I'm still gloating over MY HAUL in its unopened clear plastic bag!! XD
I got my hands on the Revlon Photofinish Foundation at Guardian KLCC (RM54.90, Nett Price RM65).. They having promotion from 6-7 August, the first 30 will receive a free Revlon Primer with purchase of the foundation. Of course i persuaded the sales girl for the free primer since i bought it yesterday.. hahaha...
milktea: OMG SO CHEAP!!! :( totally missed out, cos i seldom (if not, hardly lol!) read newspapers!!! Hehe lucky you!!!
PearlyButterfly: OOh what a great deal!!! I totally suck at persuading/negotiating so a lot of ppl will like to sell me things lol! I tried the Photoready, nice consistency but not liking the shimmers :(
Good grief! Even with the "misai", your lips look oh-so-kissable, and this is coming from a straight-woman, ok? ^_^
